The Enchanted Ball is Hawke's Bay's premier boutique event.
First held in March 2018, The Enchanted Ball is now into its fourth year bringing together a wide range of people from all over New Zealand. Each year the secret location changes to a new venue, which adds to the magic of this unique event.
The initial event was done in support of the Maraetotara Tree Trust. For 2019, 2020, and 2021 The Enchanted Ball has partnered with Te Mata Park (Te Mata Peak Trust), in order to support Hawke’s Bay’s largest and most iconic natural asset. Over the last two years, the event has passed over more than $30,000 to the Trust and has set a target of reaching over $100,000 for the next two years.
Partnership with a wide range of local and national brands enables The Enchanted Ball to be a truly premier and unique experience for all the guests that attended.
Set in an idyllic location, with the stunning surrounds of the Hawke's Bay landscape, the location sets the scene for the most magical of summer celebrations. The mystery of The Enchanted Ball is set to be revealed as guests venture a secret location with the locally produced fare, live music, arts and culture showcase, and an outstanding selection of the finest beverages.
This premier experience is a collaboration between two local event specialists; The Flagship Events Company, known for their beautiful Sperry Tents and Etiquette Events, who has worked on a wide range of national and international events.
The Enchanted Ball was created as a unique boutique event, with a focus on the sensory delights of an enchanted wonderland, locally sourced produce, and summertime in Hawke's Bay.

TE MATA PARK
Te Mata Park is the jewel in Hawke's Bay's crown. 'The Sleeping Giant' has a significant and commanding presence in every way - a landmark with outstanding geological, ecological, recreational, spiritual, and cultural significance.Te Mata Park is a vital recreational asset for our community and a popular attraction for tourists to the region.
The Park is a magnet for walkers, runners, mountain bikers, and paragliders, attracting 1 million visitors every year. It is managed by the Te Mata Park Trust Board, which is made up of 7 volunteers from our local community.
Te Mata Peak Trust is delighted to be the recipient of the proceeds from this popular Hawke’s Bay event. "Thank you to all the team behind the Enchanted Ball, for your outstanding support" - Te Mata Peak Trust.
TRANSPORTATION
Due to the nature of this event being at a ‘Secret Location’, transportation is included in the ticket, which includes pickup before the event and drops off at the completion of the event back to the pick-up locations. There will be three pickup points, one in Havelock North, one in
Hastings and one in Napier. The exact pickup points for each location will be sent out via email
prior to the event. This year we will have a roving bus which will be departing the venue at approx 9.00pm and 10.30pm.
CATERING - ORTON’S
The Enchanted Ball catering differs from the standard style of sit-down catering usually served up at a ball. Each person will be able to order and receive fare when they are ready for it. The catering will be available all night, to eat at your own convenience in a street style service.
DRESS CODE
BLACK TIE - (ONE OF THE MURKIER DRESS CODES)
Men have the option of either wearing a tuxedo or a dark suit and a tie. Because men have the option of dressing in a more casual manner, the dress code is open for women too, who can wear anything from a long dress to a cocktail number.
We think the only way to sum this up is to say, dress to impress.
